State of the art labs, universities, and start-ups have thrusted Flexible Hybrid Electronics (FHE) from an idea to a feasible and disruptive industry. FHE is growing out of the lab setting into real commercial opportunities, but there is still a void between lab scale and manufacturing that is difficult to cross. FHE needs to go from "State of the Art" to "Steady state Manufacturing". This gap can be closed quicker by involving a manufacturing partner early on in device development. Established manufacturers can aid in optimizing your designs for manufacturing and scalability. This presentation will discuss the when, why, and how to get a manufacturing partner involved, giving examples and tips on how to design for commercialization. Also covered, will be important manufacturing, business, and technical tradeoff considerations often overlooked during design development and decision making.
