The field of Additively Manufactured Electronics (AME) has seen significant recent advancements towards heterogeneously integrating materials and components relevant to advanced electronics, showing promise for use in future electronics packaging applications and overall as an alternative or complementary manufacturing route for future electronic devices. In this talk, I will discuss benefits of AME methods (including - material use efficiency, rapid design optimization, novel form factors, simplified fabrication processes), discuss relevant AME advances (including - improved resolution, materials, co-manufacturing, design tool development), highlight promising AME applications (including - RF structures; Photonics; Wearables), and highlight key growth areas needed for broader commercial adoption (including - material properties, reliability, productivity & yield, in-situ monitoring, design tools).
