Ulises Zatarain has over 15 years of experience in leadership for non profit organizations, and educational institutions. Throughout his career Ulises has implemented a multitude of economic development, educational, cultural and social programs serving thousands of youth and families in predominantly underserved and minority communities. Ulises previously served as the Senior Director of Education and Workforce Inclusion for the Arc San Francisco, where he oversaw the development of educational programs, and workforce partnerships with a variety of companies in the Bay Area. Ulises played a leadership role in developing the 3 year strategic plan for the Arc, with a keen focus on building social equity and anti racism programs for Arc Participants and staff, as well as implementing new mentoring and volunteer outreach programs, among a variety of related initiatives in partnership with the Executive Team. As Executive Director of 42 Silicon Valley, a free coding school, Ulises spearheaded partnerships with community colleges and community based organizations to provide career pathway programs to more students from under-represented groups to enter the Tech Industry. These programs are now in place in Bay area community colleges, as well as colleges in Boston, and Mexico. As Director of Program Operations for Saint Vincent De Paul Society of San Francisco, Ulises oversaw all major programs for the organization, key leading the implementation of strategic objectives, as well as the negotiation of vital government contracts. He played a key role in growing the organizational budget from $10M to $15M. Ulises was a Program Director at the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, D.C. overseeing youth education and public outreach programs. Ulises spent a fair share of his career in Chicago, where he was VP of Community Programs for The Resurrection Project where he implemented education, and economic development programs, as well as oversaw community engagement initiatives. Ulises also has experience in Academia, as an Adjunct Faculty professor teaching Literature, History, and Humanities courses at St. Augustine College in Chicago. Ulises has a Master of Arts from Northeastern Illinois University, and graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University.
