Mr. Alan Chan the Vice President of International Programs at Sonoma Technology. He leads the company’s international business development efforts, including air quality data management system implementation and capacity building in China, Mexico, Nepal, and Ghana. Alan was a member of Clean Air Asia’s Cities Clean Air Partnership experts group on air quality governance and assessment and United Nations Environmental Programme’s Asia Pacific Clean Air Partnership Joint Forum. With his background in meteorology, he developed and managed over a dozen air quality forecasting programs for cities throughout the United States. He also works closely with U.S. EPA and manages the design and development of the AirNow.gov website and AirNow mobile app. These applications help environmental agencies across the U.S. to meet their public outreach and health goals. Furthermore, Alan has been involved in Kids Making Sense®, a comprehensive environmental education and measurement curriculum that uses small, low-cost air sensors, leading several workshops in the U.S., Taiwan, and Thailand.
