Kyle Mouallem is the Semiconductor R&D Digitization Lead at EMD Electronics, where he is responsible for spearheading the company's digital transformation efforts. With a BS in Chemical Engineering, Kyle's career began as a formulation technician, specializing in CMP slurries. His early work in the formulation lab quickly evolved into a more strategic role as a pilot plant technician, where he was involved in small volume manufacturing, new product development, and future system design. Kyle's experience in scale-up engineering made him an integral team member, responsible for managing cross-functional teams across different departments to ensure that products were produced according to customer specifications.
During the onset of the Covid pandemic, Kyle recognized the need for digital transformation in the industry. He sought to deepen his knowledge of emerging technologies and enrolled in online courses on python, SQL, and Machine Learning. After receiving an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning credential from a Maricopa Corporate College course offered by EMD Electronics, Kyle joined the Chief Technology Office as the Digitization Lead for Semiconductor Solutions R&D.
Today, Kyle is focused on helping to structure incoming R&D data, building workflows to capture current data, and automating tasks to streamline processes across multiple sites within the business. His work is helping to ensure that EMD Electronics remains at the forefront of digital transformation in the semiconductor industry. At the conference, Kyle will be speaking about "A Day in the Life of an Engineer" and how he leverages the latest digital tools to help solve complex problems and drive innovation at EMD Electronics, utilizing the skills built by his Chemical Engineering background, paired with AI/ML training.
