Jason Callahan is an accomplished Chief Information Security Officer with over 25 years of experience in information security and technology leadership. Throughout his career, he has worked at Fortune 150 companies, financial institutions, and life science corporations, among others, and has established himself as an expert in developing high-performance organizations.
Callahan began his career in the United States Air Force, where he held both physical and information security functions. After leaving the Air Force, he co-founded a successful private cybersecurity consulting firm before joining Amgen, the world's largest biotechnology company, to launch its security program.
At Illumina, Callahan served in two key roles. As the CISO, he developed the enterprise security program strategy and execution and defined the security standards for Illumina’s high-tech products and cloud-based solutions. As the Head of Global Infrastructure & Operations, Callahan was responsible for supporting all facets of enterprise technology platforms and high-performance computing.
Callahan’s educational background includes a Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington's Foster School of Business and a bachelor's degree in IT. He is also an active member of the San Diego CISO Round Table, where he serves on the board of directors.
As an industry leader, Callahan has presented at various conferences, including TedX UCSD, InfraGard, and Biocom, and continues to contribute to the field of information security and technology leadership.
