In biology we talk about symbiotic relationships between different organisms that mutually benefit from their association with each other. In the business world we refer to companies as customers, suppliers, partners, competitors, or simply different parts of the supply chain. Semiconductor manufacturing and its continued evolution is incredibly complex. With all the risks for failure, there are also symbiotic relationships that allow the technology to press forward. What more could we achieve if we identified the fundamental relationships between the different parts of the process that could accelerate the progress in semiconductors?
