This session provides an overview of programs being launched by Purdue to attract and train students for the microelectronics industry, ranging from high school engagement to a new undergraduate introductory course, and a quasi-internship program on campus. The Summer Training, Awareness, and Readiness for Semiconductors (STARS), is an intensive eight-week program that will be offered annually starting with summer 2023 on the Purdue campus to help students develop deep-tech skills such as IC design, fabrication, packaging, and semiconductor device and materials characterization.
