The semiconductor industry is a high value target for cyber threat actors. Our adversaries are innovative, well-funded and persistent. They face a low risk of getting caught and high rewards if successful. Most companies in the semiconductor industry have mature cyber security programs. But individual efforts are no longer sufficient. To create a truly cyber resilient semiconductor supply chain, we must work together to promote standards, identify best practices, and streamline how we assess cyber security. In this session, Applied Materials CISO Kannan Perumal makes the case for both a collaborative approach to industry cyber security and embracing a “Design for Security” approach. Collaboration will lead to both an improved security posture and a more efficient use of limited security resources.
